Place Matters: The FP&CP Vision
With over 29 million square feet of facilities valued at over $12.9 billion, the University of Nebraska represents more than 70 percent of the state’s net total building assets. But these are more than just spaces or locations. They are places—buildings where faculty, staff and students work and learn, structures with value and meaning to people.
Along with maintaining the investments that the people of Nebraska have made in University facilities, we are constructing and building our state’s future. We take that mission seriously. From capital construction to renovations, space management to real estate, we are here to ensure the facilities of the University are not just spaces—but places.
FP&CP Services
Capital Construction
Functions include managing building projects (renovation or new construction) of $500K and above.
Small Projects
Functions include managing building projects (renovation or new construction) of $500K and below.
Building and Fire Safety
Functions include building inspection, fire prevention, building-related life safety and code enforcement.
Space Management
Functions include maintaining space inventory and planning, allocating, and managing university facilities space.
Physical Planning & Design
Functions include creating and implementing the University of Nebraska master plan, capital development plan and facilities framework.
Real Estate
Functions include real estate leasing, acquisition, sales, and property tax management.
Engineering
Functions include responsibility for university electrical and mechanical engineering, controls and instrumentation and HVAC needs.
Project & Team Support
Functions include project coordination, reporting and record maintenance, policy compliance, managing estimate requests, and administering contracts.

Campus Facilities Pages
While facilities planning and capital projects are managed centrally, each campus has their own facilities groups that manage repairs, maintenance, landscaping and grounds, custodial, operations, energy and utilities.
